About the company

Care for the clothes that do the hard work

Industrial Garment Care Pty Ltd is an Australian registered company processing workwear for industrial, transport and food-production sites across Victoria.

Who we are

A narrow trade, done properly

Most laundries treat workwear as another load. We treat it as equipment with a service life. A hi-vis jacket, a flame-resistant coverall and a food-production smock each have their own chemistry, their own temperature limits and their own reason to be pulled out of circulation — and none of those decisions can be made from the outside of a wash bag.

Industrial Garment Care Pty Ltd was set up to serve the industrial belt around Corio Bay and Greater Geelong: workshops, manufacturers, transport depots, cold stores and food producers whose crews wear the same garments every shift. Our job is to give those garments back clean, intact and still doing what they were bought to do.

How the work is set up

What happens behind the counter

Five things decide whether an industrial laundry is worth the contract. These are ours.

There is no clever machine that makes an industrial laundry good. It comes down to whether garments are separated properly before they are washed, whether the chemistry suits the fabric in front of it, and whether somebody actually looks at each item before it goes back on the rack.

We keep the process small enough that those checks are real. A garment that fails inspection is repaired or withdrawn, and the site is told which one happened — not quietly returned to the pool and left for a supervisor to find.

Sorting
Separated by fabric, soil class and risk before anything reaches a machine — oil-bearing, food-contact and general workwear never share a load.
Chemistry
Matched to the garment's finish. No chlorine bleach or softener anywhere near flame-resistant or high-visibility clothing.
Inspection
Every garment checked on return for seam failure, fastener damage and reflective tape that has lifted, cracked or dulled.
Bench
In-house repairs for zips, press studs, hems, patches and badge transfers, so a serviceable garment is not thrown away over a fastener.
Records
Garment-level tagging so items return to the right wearer and withdrawals are visible to whoever manages the stock.
How we work

Three things we will not trade away

01

Protective performance first

If a process would get a garment cleaner but leave it less protective, we do not use it. Appearance is not the point of protective clothing.

02

Tell the site the truth

When a garment is past its service life we say so and take it out, even when the easier answer is to wash it again and send it back.

03

Keep the run predictable

A laundry service is only useful if it turns up when it said it would. Fixed collection and return days, agreed before the first pick-up.
